🌲 National Center for Forest Therapy, Daeunsan Complete Visitor Guide

🌿 About

Located in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, the National Center for Forest Therapy, Daeunsan is a forest welfare facility designed to boost immunity and restore mind and body. The center follows the refreshing valley of Daeunsan Mountain, offering healing trails including the Grass Scent Trail, Windfield Healing Trail, and Premium Forest Trail- all surrounded by Mongolian oaks and Japanese cypress trees rich in phytoncide. Operated by the Korea Forest Welfare Institute, the center provides tailored forest healing programs for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

Each part of the forest offers a different vibe-warm and cozy, like stepping into a fairy tale. Once you complete a program, your first impression of the forest will feel even deeper.

🌲 A Forest Built with Extra Care

The center officially opened in May 2019, following a period of restricted public access since 2013. Inside the forest, you will find the Nanum Rest Area, the Baramteul Healing Trail, and Pulhyangi Trail. The forest is compact enough to walk through in about 30 minutes at a brisk pace, but most visitors naturally slow down as they go. The Naewon Valley runs through the forest year-round, keeping every trail cool and refreshed in every season.

The center was designed with accessibility in mind from the start. Children can safely wade in the water, and wheelchair users can cross the valley via dedicated bridges. Four trails were carefully planned in connection with activity programs. One of the best ways to enjoy this forest is simply going barefoot-feel the earth in the Red Clay Garden, soak your feet in the water, do meditation and yoga deep in the woods, and pause at Guyoneui Falls.

🖐 Hands-On Activities

The center offers a wide range of hands-on activities designed to help visitors experience the forest with all five senses and find rest in a relaxed, natural environment:

*  Pick and roast flowers to brew herbal tea

*  Create a wreath from fallen leaves and petals

*  Weave a bamboo basket to collect acorns

*  Lie in a hammock and listen to the sounds of nature

*  Take a blindfolded walk through the forest with a companion

*  Dye a handkerchief with natural red clay

These activities are designed to boost physical energy and deepen your connection with the natural environment.
