🥢 Crispy Pork Belly Rice Bowl




Crispy pan-seared pork belly glazed with a sweet and savory soy sauce is served over rice, making this pork belly rice bowl a simple yet satisfying one-bowl meal.

🥣 Ingredients (2 servings)


  • 300g pork belly, sliced

  • 2 bowls of cooked rice

  • 2 eggs

  • Green onions, chopped

  • Sesame seeds

  • Cooking oil


🧨Sauce


  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey

  • 1 tbsp mirin or water

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  •  Black pepper



👩‍🍳 How to Make It


1️⃣ Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil.

Cook the pork belly until golden and crispy on both sides.

Transfer to paper towels to remove excess fat.


2️⃣ In the same pan, remove excess oil.

Add soy sauce, sugar (or honey), mirin, garlic, and pepper.

Simmer on low heat until slightly thickened.


3️⃣ Add the pork belly back into the pan and coat evenly with the sauce.


4️⃣ Fry the eggs sunny-side up or over-easy.


5️⃣ Assemble the bowl with rice, pork belly, and a fried egg.

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
